I have come to the conclusion that this is a breakfast/brunch destination in the Kawartha's. Worth the drive. The staff was SUPER friendly and more than happy to accommodate! I have eaten there many times since then with my husband and have loved the service and food every time! Today was the first time ever eating at a restaurant with our twin boys, of course we chose Honey's Diner!! We have always been a little apprehensive about going out to eat with our 1 1/2 year old boys, but eating at Honey's was an absolute dream! Very family friendly with multiple high chairs there, change table and supplies in the spacious bathroom and just again, excellent food and excellent service! DO NOT go here if you want a relaxing time away! The cottages were run down and smelt horrible. The spa services were the worst I've ever had. The spa staff were unprofessional and not competent in their jobs. They did not sanitize or clean properly and they do not provide relaxing treatments. I wanted to leave. The only good thing there is the fine dinning restaurant. Food and service was excellent. Everything else about the package getaway sucked and was way over priced! I wrote an email to them to inform them of the spa issues we had and no one will respond. It was a welcome change from some of the restaurants we'd tried in the area. The food was fresh, well prepared and fairly priced. The menu was varied, and all the things we ate there were good. We're planning our vacation for this year, and are trying to find a place that is within a comfortable drive to Honey's so that we know that there will be at least one place we can rely on to have a decent meal. Even though the cottages looked pretty rundown, we envisioned that they would be more for the younger people in our party. The hotel and lodge were pretty old but clean enough. We decided almost immediately that this is where we would like to have our wedding. The wedding coordinator, Jennifer, was very slow to send us a quote. When she sent it to us there were a couple of surprise costs (ie. $200 for a bonfire seemed a bit excessive since other resorts include it for no charge). But we still really liked the place and so I began to cut down costs and asking basic questions about the venue. Our numbers also changed and I wanted a firm quote before placing a deposit. During this phase, as I started to cut down my costs, Jennifer suddenly said she wasnt receiving my e-mails anymore, even though we had been corresponding for months. I had to call, e-mail again and continually chase her. Finally, we were about to put down a deposit when she sent an e-mail saying that another couple had booked our date, but would we like to take another one? My fiance and I were surprised and upset by this. It was very unprofessional that after months of communicating Jennifer did not have the common courtesy to call us to say that another couple was interested, as we would have put a deposit down. She said that they dont wait for couples to make a decision and that a couple had been willing to put down a deposit that day. They obviously do not care about the customer, and care only about booking the more profitable party. My family & I thoroughly enjoyed our stay (we too stayed in one of the cottages and found they are very reasonably priced), although we didn't have one of the more deluxe units we found the accommodations quite comfortable and clean. The wedding itself was gorgeous and meal had to be one of the best wedding meals I have ever had and all of our family was raving.
