Worst Restaurant In Yellowknife....... Not worth the price! Ask the locals and you will find that this restaurant is notorious for exceptionally bad service. DON'T be fooled by the presentation of food and all the pictures of this restaurant..... ALL THAT GLITTERS IS NOT GOLD.... We have tried Bullocks, Thornton's and Taste of Saigon in YK., go to any of these three restaurants and you will be delighted without paying a fortune. We will never go back to Fuego 'not so' International...
Worse restaurant experience ever. The service was extremely slow and servers are some of the rudest people I have ever met. The guy who was supposedly our server never bothered to even ask what we were planning to order. Someone else took our order while he was chatting up the bar tender. It took 45 minutes to get appetizers. The food tasted bland and was not even properly heated. There were no servers to be found and after another 20 minutes one of servers asked us if we were ready for dessert. WTF? We told him that we were waiting on our main course. By this time it had already been 90 minutes since we had ordered our food. The main course was once again disappointing. Cold, bland food with no taste. Presentation was OK but we were not there to look at the food. The food is over priced. Don't be fooled by the title of the restaurant. There is NOTHING international about this place. The environment is not welcoming. The restaurant is in a basement and it feels like dungeon with poor sound and air quality. Every sound echoes. We left with headache. And all this for a steep price tag of $120. RIDICULOUS!!! DO NOT GO to this place. If you are looking for a great dining experience in Yellowknife, visit Thorton's wine and tapas. Excellent food, excellent wine selection and great atmosphere. We loved it and will go back anytime.
One of the best steaks I have ever eaten and fantastic sweet potato frites!
Were not sure what to make of it at first as we walked in and saw a stage with people playing, but it turned out there is live dinner music! Impressive, especially as it is every night of the week. Service was impeccable and food to die for! Have got to say this is the nicest restaurant north of sixty.
WE WENT WITH ANOTHER COUPLE.ALL THE STAFF WERE JUST WAITER'S.THEY NEEDED WAITRESSES!OUR WAITER GOT OUR ORDER WRONG.I WILL EAT THERE AGAIN AS THE FOOD IS VERY GOOD BUT WE MISSED OUR WAITRESS.SHE IS VERY GOOD.
The staff and service were awesome! The food to die for....far superior to Bullocks and the prices far more resonable. As a first time visitor I will be sure to recommend Fuego to anyone I know as the best place to dine in YK.
Excellent food and atmosphere. The new owner took his time to change the interior from a drab dungeon to a nice romantic dining experience. The food is wonderful and service is top notch!
The food is incredible, the service is outstanding and the atmosphere is truly inviting, this is the kind of restaurant where you can have a laid back and easy going meal or you can choose to make it more formal. Fuegos has it all great local music nightly and the kind of ambiance that keeps you coming back, this is truly one of the gems of the north and should not be missed. Chef Kaven Paradis has created somethig truly special and is an outstanding chef with a very positive reputation in the north. So if you are looking for a great meal and great service this is the place to eat.
My wife and I are from Toronto and we have very high expectations for restaurants. We were impressed with the food scene in Yellowknife, Fuego in particular! The menu, decor, service, were all great. But the very best thing for us was the live music, completed our dining experience and made our short trip to Yellowknife very memorable (we stayed for 2 hours after dinner was done!) Highly recommend this restaurant to everyone! -Harold & Dianna
After coming into town, we heard about this place right away in the airport. Deciding to come in, we found the staff delightful and the decor to be modern and exciting. The drink list is unique and the drinks delicious. When the food came i was blown away. Food like this in yellowknife was not expected. I decided to have the ostrich for the first time. Not dissapointed. Keep up the great work!
We had an amazing evening at Fuego and the service was superb. The appetizers were enormous as were the main courses. Everything was excellent quality, and we loved the unique drinklist and menu!
