I have done my homework. Until recently there was no kitchen to visit. In the world of natural and holistic health it is common knowledge that night shades are inflammatory . I encourage you to eat what ever just don't compliment another bakery at someone else's expense .Respond

How would you know, have you been to their kitchen? Do you think its wise to slander other local businesss ?Respond
Potatos causing inflammation is a myth perpetuated by uneducated fools.
Myth: Nightshade Vegetables Aggravate Arthritis
Science.:Tomatoes, potatoes, eggplants and peppers are just some of the nightshade vegetables that contain the chemical solanine, which some have branded a culprit in arthritis pain. But no formal research has ever confirmed the claim, and the vegetables contain essential nutrients. In fact, a study in the Journal of Nutrition in 2011 showed yellow and purple potatoes lowered blood markers for inflammation in healthy men.
Bottom Line. People with arthritis may benefit from nightshades, although some people may have sensitivities to certain vegetables.
do your homework...
BTW dont you put deadly nightshades on you pizza? ie tomatoes.

Kindly asked for a partial refund when I received a wedding cake that was nothing what I asked for, someone even put spice cake in it!?!? Was sent a disgustingly rude email from the owner with caps lock and everything, blaming everyone, even me for the cake being awful. I've never EVER had such a terrible experience, nor was treated so embarrassingly by any business owner. As you can see in the photo, the exterior isn't THAT bad, but was NOTHING what I asked for and It's leaning terribly!
Pete's Gluten Free's response to this review: Ah Sara,
Since drama is what you are looking for let me be a little more to the point, In my 30 plus years of providing superior customer service, the customer is almost always right. However there comes a time in everyone's career where that might not be the case.
You may want to sit down for this as I am sure no one dares stand up to the bullying mean girl princess diva or ever nonsense your trying to work.
You are trying my patients and i have had enough.
Rather than lying and fabricating a good story, making yourself out to be the poor victim, trying so hard to make yourself out to be this sweet kind soft darling sweetheart. You may try being transparent and honest.
You should start by telling the whole store with facts and mention the 3 emails, where i politely apologized for your disappointment.
You should also know that I personally delivered the cake to your not so local venue past Manotick in Richmond (Which you forgot to mention ( no delivery fee was ever charged) and like all the cakes we do, have a picture to prove it was not leaning when delivered. This isn't my first rodeo and we saw you comming, that is why both Jen and I communicated with you directly making things clear, sad that after leaving another bakery with an appropriate quote , you figured you could save a couple of bucks and take us for a ride.
Here is an exact copy of the 4 th and final email sent Jan 4, after you finally spoke up and had the nerve to ask for a refund.
You were provided samples of the 4 flavours of cake we make, insisted on something we DO NOT Make, after being clearly informed that we do not make vanilla and that it isn't good (Jen and i stood in front of you and told you to your face).
You not only insisted that we make vanilla, but also dairy free. As for the carrot nonsense, there was no carrot in the cake, carrot wasn't produced on the day your cake was made. we make 1000's of cakes weekly, carrot being one of the top flavours we actually make, what is terrible is that you and your friends didn't know what carrot cake tastes like.
Why is it that you don't even consider, the cake may have been mishandled, it may have got damaged as they put it out, or that it sat too long in a warm room with loud music.
Or maybe the screaming obvious difference between a 12 inch top from your picture and the 6 inch top you paid for. Your words while i was present .It is just a cake and doesn't really matter, It is not that important to me. ,as long as the peony and roses are on it.
Cake designs are artistic and Jen being the artist working within your limited budget produced a fabulous cake for you. If your photographer actually took pictures of the front of the cake, you would see that. You got exactly what you paid for, you showed us a cake valued at 800 hundred plus dollars but had a 300 hundred dollar budget. Next time try shopping with your tastes and wants inline with your budget.
You are the only customer that we have ever had a complaint from, this little back and forth isn't going to stop you from bad mouthing us. But you can be sure that when ever possible the whole truth will be communicated.
Again my sincerest apologies that you are unhappy.
