I've had not very good experiences at this place and yet have given them the benefit of the doubt and gone back. The first time I organised a group of at least 25 and we had a separate room. It was a colleague's farewell lunch. We had plenty of drinks etc. but the food took an inordinate time to arrive. We waited over an hour and a half for our food. I had made the reservations with the Owner and explained everything and yet nothing seemed organised. When I spoke to him after the fact, he was quite unapologetic and claimed that because we were a big crowd, this is what happens. Needless to say, this is ridiculous. If they can't handle a big crowd and at lunchtime on a weekday, he should have told me this upfront.
Subsequently, I have been and each time I order the veggie burger which is supposed to come with a whole portobello. I've been there about five times since now and four times I have had to send the burger back because there was no portobello mushroom at all or because there were two or three small (and I mean small) pieces instead of a whole mushroom. The last time I pointed this out to the waitress, she pointed at the three small pieces and said that was them. I said to her that this was not what the menu suggested and asked that the manager/owner (who was serving that day) get involved. He took my plate and got me another with a full portobello. He was disgruntled however that I pointed it out and there was no apology whatsoever.
If this had happened once, I would understand but it is clearly a ploy here. Most people wouldn't notice this and they would get away with it. A good cost saving measure for sure along with many other they implement along the way. My friend had the fish of the day which was a tiny portion.
Our bill was $88 before tip. We're certainly not returning.
