★ Poor 1 out of 5 eight months and twenty seven days ago around 3AM by 1035th visitor
This evening, January 25, 2017, i had 5 minutes to run into IKEA and grab an item I knew was located near the cash. With many people still there and the store still open I knew it wasn't a problem.
When I walked in and went up the escalator to the second floor, there were about 10 IKEA staff (dressed in their yellow IKEA shirts) lounging on the black lounge chairs. One lady informed me that I had 3 minutes left. I replied "okay" and smiled.
I started running as I wanted to respect their time limit, and as I began, I heard nothing but laughter directed towards me. I turned around and had all 10 IKEA workers staring at me. Is this a joke? The store isn't closed. Why are you sitting around bullying your customer? Frankly I did have 3 minutes left and funny thing is I made it out of the cash within the 3 minutes. There were still plenty of customers around.
I understand the time policy, but the laughter by a group of employees sitting around during their last 3 minutes of their shift made me feel uneasy, and as a customer did not sit well with me.
Luckily, I spotted a nice cashier who pointed me out to Shaun the manager on duty.
Shaun immediately showed concerned and ensured that my customer experience was satisfied in the end. Thank you Shaun.
