My husband and I love to drive out to the Maple Grove Tea Room at Capt. Kennedy House & Museum a few times every summer. The drive down River Road along the Red River is a beautiful scenic drive and the menu and old world ambience at the teahouse is very enjoyable and relaxing. It takes you back to a simpler time when things just moved more slowly. The flower gardens and walk paths are just so lovely to enjoy. The menu in the tea room is made from scratch and fabulous and we always enjoy a delicious home-made soup and sandwich and a glass of wine. The teas are wonderful and served in a hot tea pot with a quaint little cozy on the pot and it stays hot for a very long time! The desserts are also made from scratch and are lovely and we usually partake of the fruit pies that have the most tender and flaky crust that I have ever tasted! Coming to the tea room is like a refreshing walk back to a special time when people took the time to stop and smell the roses. The history of the Capt. Kennedy house displayed inside and around the grounds is very charming and it's a lovely museum piece! I don't know where else you can enjoy all of these special experiences in once place! We look forward to our next visit! Our rating for Maple Grove Tea Room and Kennedy House is "Most Excellent"!!!!!#beautiful #delicious #desserts #hot #love #sandwich #soup #tea Respond

The tea room is our usual Mother's Day restaurant. We simply love the service, the atmosphere and the homemade food. Beautiful location and the bannock is worth the drive in and of itself!#beautiful #love #tea Respond

The Maple Grove Tea Room is one of my favourite spots to bring out of town guests. Great lunches, a wonderful selection of teas and beautiful gardens to walk through afterwards. I highly recommend the soup, bannock or scones, and you really must splurge and try the Devonshire cream!!!#beautiful #tea Respond

Not sure what that last reviewer is complaining about. We go here on a weekly basis and always have a good homemade meal for great value. I always recommend#friends Respond

Ridiculously expensive. Specials didn't have costs listed, when bill arrived they had charged our group $10 for a croissant with a slice of cheese in it. When we complained staff said
Maple Grove Tea Room 's response to this review: This comment is unfounded. The special in question was for a egg, swiss cheese and asparagus croissant, included a cup of soup or garden salad for 8.99. I spoke with the customer in question, and she was looking for a discount meal after consuming the meal without complaint to the taste or service.

A wonderful piece of Manitoba history is embodied in this tea house. Experience the hospitality of St. Andrews, in a setting that dates back over 150 years. I have been there many times and will continue for years to come.#tea Respond
A must visit for anyone in the area. Excellent is an under-rating for this tea house!
