Beef and vegetable pie ,,,,,, was garbage , no taste , dry , hard chunk of beef , something that I guess was ment to be crust was mush, it must be hard to make food taste this bad.
Into the garbage it went..... Rated ,,,, Garbage ,,,,
Ive bought their quiches before when they were on sale and they were pretty decent, but I bought one yesterday at the YIG in Carleton Place at full price (which has gone up) and was very disappointed. First of all the box says it is 500 g, but it seemed kind of small and when I weighted it with the foil baking pan it was only about 400 g. Even with the box it was under 500 g. It was also only 7 1/2 in in diameter. It used to be larger. And the filling was a lot less than there used to be. It also didnt have much flavour.
I have a suggestion for the manufacturer, close your plant and get out of the business. If they keep at it like this they may get sued when someone gets sick with e.coli from all those so called eggs when eating this stuff.
Bought spinach quiche. Expiration date August 28th. Still 3 weeks left to expiry. Cut away plastic wrapping, there was slime all across the top of the quiche. Perhaps they shrink wrap it as soon as they cook it, holding in all that hot moisture. Crust looks soft & mushy. Followed instructions. Took it out of the oven, crust was browned at the top edges, but still soft everywhere else. Put it in the toaster oven on toast, on parchment paper, hoping it would crisp up a bit. No such luck. Top edges got browner and crisper, but that was it. Though it tasted fine, perhaps quiche is a dish best made at home.
Bought a Sabatini Spinach at metro. Cooked exactly to instructions. It was mushy on the bottom but seemed cooked on top. After a further 10 minutes it was still mushy and the crust was terrible so I threw it out. Just garbage
Poor. Two or three years ago we found the chicken pie and spinach quiche quite acceptable. We do not buy many prepared foods but today, based on our previous experience I bought two Beef and vegetable pies. Cooking instructions were followed but the pastry, top and bottom, was undercooked as were the carrots and peculiar tasting pearl onions; very little beef. It was dry and unpleasant eating. I ate two mouthfuls, my wife a little more. The rest ended up in the garbage and the second pie will be returned to the store tomorrow!
Fair. I bought a Chicken Pot Pie. The package had instructions on the back for baking Quiche. To my surprise it was acrtually a Beef Pot Pie. Certainly not what I was expecting ...edible, but not very good.
I think that I will avoid Sabatini products in the future.
Bought a chicken pie. Baked according to directions. Not cooked and our oven is fine. The taste was blah. Then found website with pictures. One pic. of a pie looked like it had a mouldy spot on it. Not too appetizing. Used to buy the small pizzas at Costco years ago. They were delicious so very disappointed in the chicken pie. I related this to the management of the store where I purchased it.
Had we yielded to all the negative reviews on this site, my wife and I would have NOT bought this brand. But, aware that the opposition can seed bad reviews, I asked the local Zehrs manager in Bolton for his review of Sabatini quiches. He was not aware of any customer complaints. In fact, he gave us a free large size for sampling.
We baked it as per instructions and were rewarded with a near home-made ham quiche! We cooked it in the convection mode of our oven.
Yesterday, Aug 30th, I went back to the store and bought the other three flavours to feed our scheduled lunch guests. Again we cooked them as per instructions and, once more, we very pleased with the results. This time, we used the conventional mode of our oven, hoping to firm-up the bottom pastry. It was improved somewhat but, apparently, because of packaging condensation this is not possible. BUT, the bottom pastry was not that much under-cooked and did not detract from the overall firmness of the quiche.
While the ham could handle a slight increase in its savoury taste, the Spinach, Broccoli and Mushroom quiches were excellent and we would opt for all four over making our own for future meals.
Poor - Very poor. Got the Ham Quiche and really looked forward to it. Mistake. Pastry was soggy and awful, no taste whatever in quiche filling and both my husband and I did not finish the piece we had and threw away the rest. Tried to find web site for Sabatini's but could not find one. Will contact Zehr's about product after reading all these negative comments. Expect much better from Zehr's /Loblaws products they sell. Hope Sabatini's read all these reviews
Very bad almost got fire in oven cause of your red ski mashed patatoes read the cooking instruction it says peel off corner. And place in oven at 350 for 30 to 40 minutes the dam tray is plastic it started to melt I posted pics. On Facebook with your instruction Im glad I went to check..... Andre ethier
After 1 bite we were sure that the chicken and vegetable pie was mouldy. Although it was well within the best before date and there was no sign of mood, the pie crust was liquids when I removed the wrapper. Thank God we didn't eat it or we may have been as sick as some others. Why Why is there no website to report this to? Poor
First time I have purchased these foods, NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!! Pie crust not bad but bottom of pie one soggy mess UGH! My wife was sick all night after tasting this quiche pie. I have contacted the Ministry of Cosumers Affairs and the local Public Health officials

Poor is a generous rating for such a bland and disgusting texture that calls itself a Ham Quiche which by the way costs $7.99 at Fortino's. This is the worst quiche I have eaten. No taste and a mix of egg and gelatin like filling. It doesn't bake well at all, the crust is soggy and the quiche falls apart when it's time to serve it.
Good, but my wife bit down on a small hard black substance. She was lucky that she did not bite down too hard or she might have broken a tooth. We have sent the particle to Sabatini's hoping to get some clarification as to what it is. Other than that it was quite acceptable for the price.

I had a Sabatinis chicken pot pie last night and found it absolutely revolting!!! Wont ever make that mistake again, would not buy any of their products. I followed the directions to the letter but the pastry didnt rise up, it was flat and grey looking and tasted disgusting, and the filling was overpowered by some herb that I couldnt identify. I had to throw the rest of it out, it was so awful.
Purchased the Ham Quiche at Walmart on sale, tasted really good but about an hour or so later was violently ill and have been ever since. It was the only thing I had late yesterday afternoon but relived it all night with vomiting and diarrhea. Would be very scared to buy anything else from this brand.
Bought a beef pie today at my local zehrs store, first time buying any sabatini product, flavour is great but having said that,I will NEVER buy another one of your products, beef and vegetables was 75%vegetables and some kind of beef, not pieces, not ground, cant say what, but certainly not much of it.500g for $9, at that price I did expect more.
I bought the broccoli quiche tonight for the very first time. It was absolutely delicious. The package instructions which I followed carefully produced a wonderful dinner. Cant wait to go out and buy it again. Delicious.
