Food was less than tasty, server was showing attitude right from the start.
Food tables are so disorganized and such a strange selection of fare. Taco meat was like ALPO, roasted potatoes were for the most part over cooled to burnt. pizza tasted like cardboard, cheese was HARD, pepperoni tasted off. i asked for beef off the carver hot table and medium was cold, gravy solidified quickly, potatoes had an off taste. id also asked for a hamburger and was offered a burger patty alone, had to ask for a bun. the burger..WOW disgusting.no knife on the bread table so do what i do and rip the bread apart. asked a staff and got a strange look, almost like i asked them to cut it for me. Potatoe salad was all dressing and again tasted off. wait staff, well good thing there are other jobs available. Staff had the nerve to come in and park in the parking spaces directly infront of the door.. again so much for customer service or appreciating the paying public.
went on Thursday nov 17 brought my friend to celebrate birthday. I was so disappointed in the place. looked very messy and servers were scarping the bottoms of the food into other trays. garlic mashed potatoes no garlic taste. ordered 2 drinks, banana pineapple cost me $7.00 each no alchol in it crème brulee had a fishy taste in it it was after 7 p.m. it was busy but looked dirty there is a strong smell coming from the pasta station either dead mice or rotten food not sure will not recommend to my friends and very dicussed with the whole experience spolke to hostess told her about the crème brulee she only apologized to bad
Just an FYI most restaurants have a time limit on special occasions. EVEN the Mandarin has a time limit on special holidays and occasions. Is this the first time you ever ate out????? Did you have a reservation?? I would bet whoever made the reservation was told of the time limit. You also need to take responsibility for your being late.You said you are a manager at a restaurant as well??? The you of all people should understand that there are other reservations which is why a smaller table was not offered to you. You and your husband arrived late and expected to hold an entire table as unavailable while you ate and everyone else in your party was departing??? How very considerate of you. I love Tuckers and have never had a rude employee or manager. Please tell us what restraurant you are a manaer of so we know not to go to your establishment.
** HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT**
We went here easter sunday to meet our family for brunch. I was late arriving and my husband was going to be even later joining us as he had to drop his children off at their home. I managed to get two plates of food in before my husband arrived. When he did finally join us he ordered a beer and went to get a plate of food. By the time he sat back down and his beer arrived our bill was already on the table and he was informed he had 10 minutes to eat as the server took away my cutlery. At no point did anybody inform us that there was a time limit on our seating and if so we shouldve been informed as he ordered his beer because then we wouldnt have shelled out $25 for 1 PLATE OF FOOD! The manager and server were checking their watches while pointing to our table. Im sorry I understand that the place was busy and most of our party was departing but we wouldve gladly moved to a smaller table had we been offered one. Instead we were made to feel uncomfortable as he shovelled in that one plate of food. Our bill was $68 and all we got was 3 measly little plates of food and pressure to leave. My husband approached a manager and she was fairly rude stating thats just the way it is and there were other reservations waiting. Im sorry but as a manager at a restaurant myself I know you never treat guests as a disposable asset. Needless to say I called the next day to speak to whom I assume is the general manager. She told me there is a policy that you can only stay for 1hr 45min. WHY IS THAT NOT STATED ON THEIR WEBSITE? WHY DID THE SERVER NEGLECT TO INFORM US OF THIS RIDICULOUS POLICY WHEN MY HUSBAND ARRIVED LATE?? My husband was in the building for 20mins tops. The manager took my name and # and said she would follow up after a bit of investigating as to what had happened so as to remedy the situation. Im STILL WAITING FOR HER TO CALL ME BACK. What a JOKE! Save your money go to Mandarin if you want all you can eat without hidden policies. Well never go back seeing how management at this restaurant treats guests as though theyre worthless. What a waste of money and a lovely family brunch RUINED.
Marketplacve Etobicoke....we were there for my husband's 80th Birthday and couldn't have asked for a better place for the price, food, and the private room. We had 30 people, the waitress was very friendly and our room was next to everything, which worked well as 26 were seniors. We had a lovely lunch, the food was so versatile, that if you were a vegan, diabetic, or lucky enough to eat anything, it was all there. Couldn't have asked for a better menu. From comments below, really don't know what people expected. No food preparation at home, no dishes to wash...what is better! Plus, old friends met new friends and our group had a great time. Have been going to Etobicoke for many years celebrating family birthdays, and will continue to do so.

Some years ago, I enjoyed coming here, and so arriving back to the province today I brought my wife here for dinner, and I am besides myself with how terrible the food was. I am floored, actually. Although the roast beef was good, the Yorkshire pudding was dense and cold, hard and cake-like (I couldn’t eat it, actually, and love Yorkshire), the carrots were unbuttered and totally unseasoned, and the corn was chewy. Then, I tried the rice pilaf which would have been okay had it not been over-salted by about x3, which made it quite awful. Then, I get a salad from the salad bar and the croutons are clearly not fresh, but even *stale*. In addition, in the past there were many more buffet items, the items did not look appetizing at all, but would you believe that this $25-per-person buffet had *crispy onion topping* as a buffet item? Unbelievable. We also ordered a long island iced tea that wasn’t made correctly as it was like a fizzy pop and not like a brewed tea. I was so astonished that on leaving, I told the manager all this, that I used to eat there and that this tonight truly deserved a refund, as almost every item was really poorly prepared, and he said, “Well, we would like you to come back. You can come back and try us again.” Really? I mean why would you offer someone this when they just finished telling you how each item was terribly prepared, and after they told you that you used to be a fan? It’s not like a few items were bad, but it was all cheap and insulting. So we paid $63 in total for all-you-can-eat food prepared by people who could care less. I will never go to a Mother Tuckers (Ottawa) again. Save your money. If you once liked it, like me, it is not the same at all so you best go elsewhere.
As a regular customer, I am appalled and needless to say very disgusted with Manager Darlene's inability to excel at customer service or even attempt to resolve a customer complaint favorably. It is time this organization pay attention to the run of the mill, garden variety Managers that works for this organization who appears to be not versed in customer relations. In addition, I was dumb founded at the way she spoke and insulted her staff openly. I was served by a very friendly and patient server; however, my experience was quite soured by Darlene's abrasive and belligerent mannerism. How has hired this seemingly bully? I would like to meet her on the battle field and show her what real bullies can succumb to. Disgraceful and Distateful Manager
