Been enjoying their produce ( anything they mark "Our Own" ... always great ) for years. Saw this lady today haggle and give them a hard time... guess that is how they do it in their culture. Thought it time I speak up and recommend GJ Farm. I am very happy to be able to watch such delicious items produced on their farm. I also appreciate it is called Farm (just one where George and Lyudmila can be seen working the crops with other staff) instead of Farm's' where production is hidden from view. By the way they make no secrete about buying produce from the best available other local providers when their crop is not available. I wanted peas this week to try a Pea Soup recipe featured in edible magazine. George offered local peas he had and also suggested his crop would be in next Friday. I'll be back Friday for the 'Our Own' peas.
They state they sell organic produce but NOTHING Is organic. They don't even have an organic license number which is mandatory!!! They state they grow their own raspberries but they don't have a raspberry field. They state they sell their own eggs but the eggs they sell are white yet they have brown chickens!! They have daily egg deliveries!!! They state their strawberries are organic but they resell them from a local grower who is not organic. They state they sell their own peas but have them delivered daily from a local farmer. Lies!!!!
If I have read the review
I wouldn't have gone in there
There is no false story there
The female owner (I presume)has no interest of serving customers of certain race
I also witnessed the male owner (l presume) being rude and yelled at customers of certain race.
It is totally a disgrace to the Canada 150 anniversary

Thanks to the Chinese lady, now all Chinese has been stereotyped. Customers did not get much attention from the cashier lady, don't mentioned about the guy farmer.
We had much fun in Emma Lea farm instead.
Absolutely agree. We have been their customers for many years, very happy with produce and service. Very hard-working family, including their very young kids. Will be coming back as long as they are here. And after reading the ladys complaint I had a feeling that she had not present the situation as it had happened in fact..
Excellent eggs, produce and service! The owners are very friendly and accommodating; they will let you know if the produce have been sprayed or not, and answer all questions with a smile. However, it is a farm...not the supermarket: not everything is available all the time! If you don't like surprises, call ahead of your visit!
Called to ask if they have u-pick peas and the lady that answers the phone tells me not today but tomorrow for sure, so I show up with my three kids ages 5, 3.5 and 2, who have been so excited they couldn't fall asleep the night before, my 3.5 year old would eat peas morning noon and night if I let him, and we arrive promptly at 9am opening time. The girl setting up seemed so disinterested in customers altogether and was walking away from me as I approached her, telling her we were here for u-pick peas. She kept walking away and doing other things as if I was interrupting her, telling no they didn't have u-pick peas. I tried to explain my phone call and she dismissed me, replying that her boss doesn't like kids in the u-pick fields anyways. I raised my voice, forced her to look at me and told her, I don't care if your boss doesn't like kids, I am a paying customer! I would like to speak with him please. She went and got him and he came out reluctantly, he looked tired and old and gave me the impression he'd rather be on a tractor than talking to customers. He also was disinterested but not argumentative, and explained that the Italians come and take them all, they're done for the season now. They don't like the heat. I asked him to refer me to somewhere else, he sent me to the opposite corner of richmond, W&A farms, who carry almost exclusively strawberries and potatoes, and who are closed for the entire month of July. Real nice. Will never go there again!! Close your bloody business and sell your stuff to Hoegler at Richmond Country Farms.
For those of you who heard about the women and the two boys, there is a high chance that she is over exadurating it and isn't telling the whole truth. So before writing a review after hearing about the accident, visit the farm, it's very nice!
