August 25 2016, i was shopping for raspberries and Alex, the owner came over my shoulder and starting yelling that i cant touch the berries and at this point i had just picked up the container only. He accused me of touching and and as i was politely reminding him i was not picking and choosing , he started to yell and basically bullied me out of the store. Previously i had noticed him and his wife do the same to his workers and not sure if anyone has noticed most of the workers are always changing.Of course i would never go there anymore esp for the reasons he treats his workers.

ONE OF THE OWNERS OF YOUNG BROTHERS NAMED ALEX IS A COMPLETE BULLY!!!
Produce is not bad, but I was in Young Brothers today - Aug 08, 2016 around 5:30 pm and a Korean man named Alex, who I understand is one of the owners, was completely berating a poor young boy in Korean for about 5 minutes before I finally walked up to the owner, and told him to stop completely humiliating this poor boy in front of all the customers. The owner said he had made a mistake. I said I didnt care what he had done but that you dont speak to people like that, and particularly not in front of other people. He then shuffled the young boy into the back where i could hear him berating him again. The poor kids face made me want to cry - he looked so ashamed as this man completely deflated him in front of everyone. I wanted to throw up at the way this guy was treating this poor kid! I asked one of the staff if he was one of the owners and she said yes. Unfortunately, I was in a rush as I wanted to go drop my basket at the mans feet and tell him (the owner Alex) that I will never shop there again due to his abhorrent treatment of this young boy. If that is the way he treats people in front of customers...how exactly does he treat people when no one is watching I ask?!?
If you care about people more than money... Do the right thing and STOP SHOPPING at Young Brothers. Persia Produce or Apple Farm Market up the street at Broadway and Macdonald are much more civilized places to shop.
Poor - I've been buying produce at Young Brothers for a few years - after my experience yesterday - will never shop here again. There was a man - who I assume to be the owner - stocking red grapes in sealed 2 pound packages - I did not want 2 pounds of grapes so proceeded to open one of the packages. The man flipped out on me - he told me that I had to take the sealed bag of grapes to the cashier and they would open the package and give me the amount of grapes I required. He told me that he has been there for 23 years and I should know this re the grapes. I asked this idiot if he had bothered putting up a sign - indicating not to take the grapes out of the bags. told him that mind reading is not one of my talents and also - that he was very very rude. He was still glaring at me as I paid for my stuff at the cashier. They may have low prices here - but they are very unfriendly, rude and the vibe is not good. I'm done with you Young Brothers - you suck.
